I never got an interview for this job. The recruiter seemed annoyed that I was asking for another person's phone number so I could contact them. When we finally spoke, she scheduled me for a 5:30 PM interview, even though she knew I had to go back to work. She didn't answer her phone when it was past our interview time, which was about 15 minutes late. She was annoyed because she was also talking to an executive, but why schedule an interview and an executive meeting at the same time? I'm glad I didn't end up working there, as it showed they probably wouldn't have valued me.

I applied online and a recruiter reached out a few days later. We had an initial screening call, and then I spoke with my potential supervisor on the phone for about 45 minutes. It felt like a casual chat. The next day, the recruiter scheduled four 45-minute Skype calls and sent me some quiz-like questions to test my skills. I did the Skype interviews over the next week, staying in touch with the recruiter. After the fourth call, I had a final Skype chat with the supervisor to ask any last questions, and he offered me the job verbally. I got a written offer 24 hours later and accepted. The interviews were challenging but fun. Everyone at Inflection is passionate and excited about the company's growth, and they're smart people who expect new hires to work hard from day one. The whole process was fast, smooth, and professional. I mentioned my salary expectations, and they offered me more. This shows how much Inflection values its employees.

I applied online and got a response pretty quickly. Then there was a phone screen that felt a bit unstructured and not the best experience. It didn't feel demeaning to me, but I can see how it might for others. It just seemed apathetic. After that, I met with the hiring manager and was then invited for an on-site interview. I never heard back after that, and my follow-up emails got no response. I thought the hiring manager and recruiter having years of experience was a good sign, but compared to other companies, my experience with Inflection has been worse. Saying they're 'just a start-up' isn't a good excuse in Silicon Valley; it just means they're unorganized and not good at their jobs. Based on other reviews, I'm calling it a waste of time. It's self-defeating to engage top talent and then be so unorganized and dismissive. This isn't a company worth pursuing unless you're desperate, especially in this job market. If you're interviewing elsewhere, I'd put this one at the bottom of the list.

The whole thing took about two months. I spoke with a bunch of different people at Inflection. It seems like a cool place to work, but they really took their sweet time with me. The interviews covered technical stuff, how I interact with a team and my personality, and some theoretical topics. My recruiter was super positive, saying I was great and would do amazing things, but then they ended up going with someone else. The reason they gave was that my writing was apparently too 'SEO focused'.
