The recruiter who conducted my first interview was cold and distant. They followed a qualification checklist, making the conversation feel unnatural and unpleasant. They didn't bother to call me back or provide constructive feedback.

Behavioral Presentation

The process started off great, the team seemed smart and really into their jobs. But as it went on for a few weeks, I could tell the founders and managers, though nice and meaning well, just don't have much real experience and seem disconnected from what customers actually need and the market they're aiming for. They were really wishy-washy about making a hiring decision even after saying they wanted to hire me. The good news is, they've got plenty of money and time to get better and sort things out.

The interview process was good overall. I went through three online meetings, all with a VP. The last meeting also included HR to talk about contract details. The whole thing took about two weeks.

Case Presentation

The interview felt like they were using it to get free consulting on their planned strategy and tactics. They didn't ask about me or my experience, or tell me anything about the company or role. Most of the time was spent asking me questions about how I would handle their specific issues.
