The interview process was a mess, with two recruiters ghosting me. The second recruiter finally set up an interview, but I was only emailed about it late on a Friday, with the interview scheduled for the following Monday or Tuesday. The interview itself was the only smooth part. I felt like I was being led on about getting the job. I sent a thank-you email afterward with no reply, and then after two weeks, I emailed again to see if I was still being considered, also with no response. There were many red flags; they wasted my time and were outright rude by not even confirming if I was still in the running.

Behavioral Other

I had an interview with the Recruiter, the Hiring Manager, and a variety of executives. There were also leadership assessments conducted by an external firm. It was interesting how they used outside consultants, as it allowed for deeper probing from an external perspective, giving the decision-maker more data. It would have been better if the hiring manager had followed up to probe deeper after the psychological portion, rather than making a decision immediately after. I had to reach out to see if a decision was made.

Technical Behavioral System Design

There were 2 interviews, one over the phone and one in person. The phone interview included general questions like why you're looking to leave your current role and what you'd expect from this position if you got it, along with technical questions focused on object-oriented development and Java. The in-person interview was about 4 hours long and involved talking with an HR manager, an IT director, and the person who would be your technical manager. Only the conversation with the technical manager was 'technical'. Besides more Java/OO questions, I did a mock design session where the manager acted as a VP giving requirements for a new app, and I had to show how I'd take high-level business needs and turn them into system requirements.

So I applied and two weeks later got a call to set up a phone interview for the next week. Then about a week after that, I got another call to schedule an in-person interview for the following week. They got back to me about three weeks after that. The first interview was with the lead engineer. The in-person one had me meet with three different groups, and each group had two engineers. They wanted to know about my past work and what I'm interested in.
