So, first I had this chat with HR to get acquainted, which went for about 45 minutes. Then, I talked to someone on the Tech/Design Outreach team for around 30 minutes and they asked me about 7 questions related to my experience. After that, I had a call with the Head of Sales Verticals, where they gave me a ton of info about the role and the sales team; it honestly felt a bit like they were pitching me. The next step was a 20-minute presentation at their NYC office, with two people in person and about five on Google Hangouts. I presented my deck without interruption, then they hit me with about 10 questions, and I got to ask questions too. That whole meeting was an hour. Then, I chatted with the Head of Technology and Platform over the phone, and we brainstormed some cool new platform ideas. Finally, I was flown out to their SF office for four back-to-back 30-minute interviews, and the last one was with the CEO, Slava. The whole process, from applying to getting the offer, took only 3 weeks, and I usually heard back about next steps within a few hours. They were super organized and fast-paced, and everyone was punctual and welcoming.

The whole interview process lasted about a month from applying online to getting the offer. First, HR emailed me for a phone screen, which happened the week after. Then, my direct supervisor called me for a phone interview over Google Hangouts. We talked about my resume and past experiences. After that, I got a case study to show what I could do, due the next Monday. They liked it and invited me for an on-site interview the following week. I met with people I'd be working with in 30-minute chats and got a quick office tour. A few hours after the on-site, my supervisor called with good news – I got the job offer that same day! The follow-up was always quick, and everyone made me feel comfortable and confident answering questions. It didn't feel stressful.

Got referred by a friend of a friend. Recruiter emailed within 24 hours and we scheduled a call with the recruiter and Director of Engineering a few days later. The first interview was pretty open, just to get a feel for my personality and general skills. About 2 hours after that, I was contacted to set up a technical interview with a senior engineer for the next day. We did the technical interview over Google Hangout using Stypi for coding and test questions. It started with basic technical stuff, then moved to building algorithms in code/pseudo code, and ended with academic questions like the purpose of inheritance and inner vs outer joins. Within 24 hours after the technical interview, the recruiter let me know they were going with another candidate. It was a really positive experience though, everyone was super nice and enthusiastic, which made it pretty relaxed.

So, the process started with a recruiter screening, then I talked to the hiring manager, who is the CFO. After that, I had individual interviews with the VP of Product/Eng, someone from the Analytics Team, and the CMO. The final round was supposed to be a project or case study with the C-Suite. Most people were really positive during the interviews, except the CMO no-showed their meeting. It was only after several minutes into the scheduled Zoom that the recruiter came on to let me know what happened and that the CMO would be out of town for at least a week. They still moved me forward to the project round, but then the day before my presentation, the whole interview got cancelled, and they informed me they were also cancelling the position.
