It was a diverse panel interview with representation from different groups. The interview lasted about 45 minutes. The hiring decision took a long time, around 2-3 months, due to federal hiring guidelines. Everyone was asked the same questions, and it felt like the decision was already made before the interview, serving as a formality. The process is slow because it's government bureaucracy.

The interviews are done in a board format. Typically, three members will be on the board. They'll ask you about 3 to 5 personal questions, 3 to 5 technical questions, and 3 to 5 questions about your future career goals. It's usually not too tough. The board members are usually higher-ranking military officers or NCOs. But don't worry about that, they're good people. They want you to feel comfortable and perform well.

First, I had to sign some paperwork for a credit check. Then, we went to a conference room for an interview with three people, including my supervisor. They each had a list of questions. The interview was paused for about twenty minutes because the supervisor had to leave, which was a bit odd.
