First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.
Endpoint Engineer
So first, Indiana Farm Bureau looks at your application, HR is checking resumes to see if you have experience with IT or infrastructure support. If they like it, then a recruiter or HR person calls you for a quick chat to see if you qualify, how you communicate, and if you're interested in working here. If that goes well, you'll have a technical interview with an IT manager or someone on the team where they'll ask about your experience.
- Are you capable of fulfilling the requirements of the job description?
PR Specialist
The interview with HR went great. I was told they wanted to hire someone ASAP for a January 2025 start. After not hearing back for two weeks, I emailed HR. They were always gracious and nice but didn't give me next steps. I then got a standard ding letter. HR was cool and cordial, offering no feedback, which I know is due to Legal Dept policy. This interview was a waste of time, as I was strung along for two weeks only to be told I wasn't chosen. Hiring managers should let candidates know when they decide not to move forward.
- What's your motivation for returning to public relations?
Data Architect
It started with a phone screen with HR, then a call with the hiring manager, followed by a 3-hour in-person panel interview. It took about 4 weeks from applying to the panel interview. I didn't hear back for 2 weeks after the panel, so I called them to ask about the status and that's when I found out I didn't get the job.
- Can you explain the connection between Data Architecture and Data Governance?
Sales
It was a meet and greet, super informal. Honestly, a waste of my time and the job posting was misleading. They don't give you a book of business, and the manager is all about motivational podcasts for training. It's all cold calling, the pay is bad, the products are not good to sell, and there's no room for growth. Unprofessional and a joke, they did give a free meal though.
- What podcasts do you enjoy?
- Tell me about yourself, but it's all about me.
- Tell me about yourself, using 'blah blah blah blah'.
