Production Engineer
The interview process included a few technical questions focused on chemical engineering. There were also HR questions, questions about family background, and discussions on the outlook in the oil & gas industry. They also asked about recent global events. We talked about B.Tech projects and internship projects, and any research papers. The interview panel was very casual. They asked about strengths and weaknesses, and knowledge about Indian Oil, specifically recent projects taken up by the company. They also inquired about world rankings and other general knowledge stuff.

Applied through a newspaper ad. Got past the initial screening and then had a personal interview with some very senior people. They were nice but straight to the point. The interview was technical, covering basic chemical engineering ideas, project stuff, and any past work experience. They also asked about recent advances in chemical engineering, especially for the petroleum industry.
- Can you tell me about recent advancements in chemical engineering?

The interview process involves 2 rounds. The first is a group discussion (GD) where you just need to present your point of view on the topic and keep it simple. The second round is a technical and HR interview, which includes 5-10 technical questions (very basic) and finally a few HR personal questions. Just keep it simple is the key.
