First, there was a call to understand my current situation and explain the offer in detail. Then, we had an email exchange where the company first sent me a math test (medium level). Separately, there was the technical test, which was a bit long but not too complex. After passing the tests, we had a call with the team leads to discuss the offer.

The process was quite unprofessional. First, I had a video screening interview but nobody showed up. After following up, we rescheduled. Then, I had an in-office interview. I didn't hear back for two weeks, so I followed up again and was told they were still reviewing candidates. Four weeks after the interview, I sent a second follow-up. Still no reply, and then I saw on Infojobs that I'd been rejected. Finally, seven weeks after the in-person interview, I got an email saying I hadn't been selected.

I had a first-round screening call and was surprised to learn afterward that the interview had been recorded without my explicit consent. As a candidate based in Canada, I expected to be asked for permission before any recording took place, as consent is legally required. Unfortunately, that did not happen in this case. I believe it's important for companies to follow local privacy laws and communicate transparently with candidates, especially during the hiring process.

Had an initial call where I talked about my expectations and salary range, making sure to be clear about the numbers. Then there was a 2.5 hour technical review with someone watching me code. No feedback was given. Finally, a call where they told me I did well on the technical review, but my experience level made the salary offer impossible. It felt like a waste of time and the offer was insulting, less than I'm currently making.
