It was a pretty straightforward interview process with a work assignment. There were four main stages: first, an HR call, then a chat with the manager, followed by a work assignment (which felt a bit unnecessary but wasn't too hard), and finally, an interview with the team. The team interview involved meeting with each member for about 15 minutes.

My first contact was a super quick HR call. They mentioned they had other candidates they were moving forward with but would circle back if those didn't pan out. About two weeks later, they contacted me again to set up a meeting with the hiring manager. The hiring manager said I had 'exactly' the background they were looking for and that it was a 'pleasure' to meet me. However, I got a rejection email the very next morning. The whole thing felt disrespectful and confusing.

An outsourced recruiter contacted me, and then I had a video interview with the data team manager. The people were great, but it's strange that the company let the entire team go last year and hired a new data manager to rebuild it. The recruiter informed me a week after the interview that they chose another candidate, but I saw the job ad reposted on LinkedIn recently... I suspect the recruiter was trying to be kind, but I would have preferred honesty. I hope they find the right person for the job!

I had an initial phone screen with HR to go over the job details. After that, I took an online personality test. Later, I had a formal interview with two upper management people and one person from the department needing to hire. They each interviewed me for about an hour. A few days passed, and then I was given some hypothetical situations to discuss solutions for during a three-way conference call.
