It was a pretty straightforward process. I interviewed with two managers separately. Then, I had a joint interview with two potential colleagues. The second round felt more like a vibe check, while the first two interviews were focused on my experience and examples of my past work. I got an offer about a week later, but I turned it down because my current job gave me a counter-offer.

I got a LinkedIn message from an imre recruiter about the role. We had a phone call where I expressed my interest in continuing. Then, she scheduled a Zoom meeting with the CEO, which went really well. About 30 minutes later, the recruiter called and said I got the job, mentioning benefits and pay. I told her I'd need to give my two weeks' notice. A few days passed, and I kept following up, but the recruiter gave excuses about the offer letter. Suddenly, she called saying I needed to meet the CEO in person that day at 5 pm for another interview, because the CEO liked another candidate interviewed after me. I had dinner plans and no other date was offered, so I asked for 6 pm since I worked until 5. While rushing to Manhattan, I got a message changing the meeting to 6:30 pm, so I waited outside the restaurant for 30 minutes. At 6:30, I met the CEO outside with her dog, who had just finished a martini. She rushed our 30-minute meeting, despite me canceling my dinner plans and rushing from Queens. The next day, I found out I didn't get the job. While I'm okay with not getting the job, I'm not okay with the lack of transparency from the CEO and recruiter. They didn't communicate well, and it felt like they didn't respect my time. I'm glad I didn't give my two weeks' notice or tell many people. I would have at least appreciated a formal rejection email.
