I walked in and filled out an application. I briefly spoke with one of the managers. He quickly looked over my resume, asked a few questions about my availability, and scheduled an interview for the next week. I came back and interviewed with one manager. Then I scheduled an interview with the general manager, and after interviewing him, I received a call from a woman who said, "your hired!"
- What would you do if a customer was yelling at you because they were unhappy with their order?
Security
You can find job postings on Craigslist, or sometimes get referred by friends. The first step is meeting with the front of house manager for a chat. This interview is pretty chill, they mainly want to see if they vibe with you. Meanwhile, they'll do a quick online background check to make sure you don't have any past violent offenses. If you pass that, they'll introduce you to the ladies working the ticket office during the day shift, who are always super nice. Then you meet the General Manager, which pretty much means you're in.
- Do you have the technical ability to operate the soundbooth?
Doorman
It was a really chill interview process. They primarily wanted to assess my character and ensure I had the right intentions for the role. I had conversations with both the assistant GM and then the GM. Ultimately, I received a job offer the very next day.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What motivates your interest in this position?
- Have you visited this establishment previously?
Bartender/Server
It was pretty straightforward. They asked me about basic bar knowledge. They also asked if I'm comfortable with high volume work and if I'm a team player. It's a typical service industry interview! If you know your stuff, you should do fine.
- How would you manage during high-pressure situations?
