& Process

I was really excited for this interview because my background seemed like a great match for what they were looking for. But, the interview itself was a letdown. The VP said something about understanding I'm 'young and looking for a job,' which was weird and made me feel like they weren't seeing my actual qualifications or how I fit the role. The conversation felt off, and not really about what I could bring to the table. The interview didn't feel like it represented the role as it was described, and it seemed like they made assumptions about me instead of focusing on my skills.

Had a phone screen with a recruiter who was friendly and knew their stuff. Then there were a couple of assessments. After that, I had a video interview with the manager. Then a second interview with the next level person. The recruiter kept in touch throughout the process and was quick to respond, even if it was just to say they didn't have an update yet.

I applied on LinkedIn and they emailed me to set up a phone screening a few days later. The phone screening was quick (15-20 min), and the recruiter asked standard questions like 'tell us about your previous history' and 'why do you want to work here?'. The recruiter then scheduled an in-person interview with the hiring manager. Before the in-person interview, I had to complete a Cleaver DISC personality assessment and a Wonderlic exam. I took the exam, and then the hiring manager, who was late and seemed unprepared, conducted a conversational interview. She had trouble connecting to WiFi to show brand examples and often paused, seemingly unsure of what to ask next. She also had a pen-sized microphone out, but never said if she was recording. They ended up rejecting me because they wanted someone with a more corporate style, which wasn't evident in my portfolio. HR was professional, but the marketing manager was disorganized.

I applied online and then got a call for an interview. Before that, I had to take an online prove it skills test. When I went for the interview, the people were really nice and approachable. I was honest with them and they were too. Near the end, I took another short assessment, two pages with some math problems. I didn't even finish the first page. Then the district manager came in and we talked about my interests and hobbies. After that, I assume they checked my background.
