Mechanical Engineer
So after they look at my resume, they give me a 1 hour virtual interview. If I pass that, then I get called for an onsite interview. Going onsite is pretty important because it lets me see the place and figure out the kind of work I'd be doing.
- Can you share an example of an innovative contribution you made to a project?
- Tell me about a situation where you had a disagreement with a team member.
Mechanic
It was a behavioural interview. They asked me about situations I’ve been in at work and how I handled them, how I handle stress, the hardest job I have done, if I am a team player, if I can work well alone, and if I am a good troubleshooter.
- Are you a team player?
Mechanical Engineer
Went through three interviews with different people at the company. One was about answering negative things about myself, like when I messed up or didn't get along with coworkers. Another was about answering positive things about myself. The last one was just a vibe check, no questions about me specifically. Got an offer to move forward from the interview location.
- Can you share an instance where you had difficulty collaborating with colleagues?
- Tell me about a mistake you made.
- Describe a situation where you struggled to work effectively with others.
