Research Analyst
I got a call back a couple weeks after applying online for a phone interview with a recruiter. The whole process took about 2 months from the phone interview to the final decision. After the phone screening, I was invited for an in-person panel interview. Some people were physically at the DC office, while others joined via webcast from Columbia, MD and other locations. I wasn't happy that after the in-person interview, they said I'd hear back the next week, but I had to chase them myself a few weeks later. They told me they hadn't made a decision yet and would be in touch, but I still heard nothing. I followed up again and received a generic email a week later stating they had chosen another candidate. While the experience wasn't awful, I felt like they strung me along after the in-person interview. Since I didn't hear back within the timeframe they gave, I figured I didn't get the job, but their HR person said they were still deciding and would let me know. I wish they had just told me upfront if I didn't get it, instead of dragging it out for another month and a half.

Leadership Team
I applied and then had a chat with HR. After that, I did an onsite interview that lasted about 3.5 hours with different staff members. We ran over time and I didn't get to meet with the last person. Two days later, I reached out to see if I still needed to interview with that last person to finish things up. They never got back to me, like, ever. I was bummed about the lack of communication; it felt kind of unprofessional. I really wanted the job, but not getting picked wasn't the big deal; it was not hearing anything back after such a long interview that really opened my eyes. Sadly, I lost some respect for the company.

Graphic Designer
Reached out via email for an initial chat with HR about the job basics and pay. After that call, I was invited for an in-person interview with the supervisor and department head. They set up the in-person meeting by email and also had me complete the online application. The in-person was with the director and VP of the department. They were cool, experienced, and to the point. The interview was about an hour and covered the usual stuff: past projects, how I work, and looking at my portfolio. They also answered my questions well.

Research Associate
My interview process started with an HR screening call about a week after sending my resume. Then, there were two phone rounds with different researchers. Finally, I was asked to give a job talk and met with five people in person. The whole experience was professional and went smoothly. Everyone was polite and seemed content. The job talk had a lot of questions. It was a good experience.
