First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Impact Group.
Resume Writer
I first spoke with the recruiter who checked my qualifications and background. Then, I had interviews with my potential manager and their manager. Everything was done online because we all work remotely.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What's your capacity for handling resume writing volume?
- How have you dealt with challenging circumstances in your work?
Transition Coach
I applied online and got a quick call for a first round interview. It was an initial phone interview, but due to COVID-19, they didn't proceed with hiring for this position as planned. The interview was okay, but they didn't ask me many questions as the candidate. Luckily, I was prepared with my own questions for the interviewer, which helped us have a longer conversation and get to know each other.

Resume Writer
First, I sent over my portfolio. Then, I chatted with the hiring manager on the phone. She was super keen to see my exam results. I did the 90-minute exam and sent it back. After that, I heard nothing. I followed up a week or two later to see if there was any decision, mentioning I had other offers. Still no response. It's pretty disappointing that a company would have an interviewer do an exam and then not even bother to follow up. Whether they hired someone or not, they should at least give the candidate who spent an hour and a half of their time a quick response.
- Why were you interested in this role?
Marketing/Sales
I started with a phone screening by a very nice HR person, and then I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, I went to a panel interview with some team members and the owner. The interview was quite long. I had to prepare a presentation, and I got to present about half of it. I didn't get the job, but looking back, I'm okay with it since I found out more about the owner's conservative approach, who I would have worked closely with.
- Can you share details about your past experience?
- How do you apply your learned skills?
- Describe your leadership styles.
