First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Impact Advisors.
Consultant
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It kicked off with a recruiter chat, followed by three back-to-back rounds that focused solely on behaviorals, skipping any case interviews. The process wrapped up with a final meeting with a senior team member. There was also an offline Excel skills course to complete.
- Can you describe a situation where you faced challenges while working as part of a team?
Intern
The interview process was quick and took about a month. The recruiter was really nice and made me feel at ease. There were three stages: a regular screening call, then a meeting in person with a senior consultant, and the last one was with a director. They were all about behavioral questions.
- What makes you interested in a career in healthcare consulting?
Healthcare Consultant
The recruiting process had some issues with the Department of Labor, which I've reported. The recruiter was unprofessional, bragging about not giving salary info to CA residents despite new laws and even putting it in writing. They also demanded my current salary, which is illegal in CA and IL. After three interview rounds, they changed the job title from Director to Manager, which explains why they withheld salary details. I've reported this to the CA Department of Labor, and a quick search shows other problems. My advice: ensure recruiters don't put violations in writing. If the company doubts this, I can provide the written evidence.
- Will you travel over 50% of the time?
- What's your motivation for wanting this role?
- What's the minimum salary you'd consider?
Vice President of Client Engagement
Recruiting staff was very professional. I interviewed with 3 senior executives. After positive feedback, I had a video call scheduled via Microsoft Teams with the most senior executive. However, the executive leader joined 15 minutes late and only via phone with a bad connection, making for a very bad interviewer. The interview lasted 20 minutes. The executive decided to place me in a different role that required 100% travel, unlike the original role which required 25%. The next day, the recruiter told me I didn't get the job because I didn't meet the 100% travel requirement for the job I never applied for. It felt like a bait and switch, with competent initial interviews followed by an unprofessional senior executive.
- Can you describe your background and achievements?
