Data Engineer
The interview process was very smooth, straightforward and to the point. The recruiter was very nice and directed every step of the interview process. The interviewers were very professional and well informed about the role and expectations.

- Questions about your previous experiences were asked.
Software Engineer
First, there was a telephonic round with a coding exercise and some knowledge questions, which was pretty standard for IT roles. An experienced engineer conducted this call. Then, I had in-person interviews with four people over two hours. The first person I met was an architect, and most questions were general, like asking about job satisfaction. Then, two more people came in. One asked some confusing algorithm questions, specifically about randomizing a stack of arrays, which turned out to be about random sorting after much clarification. The next person, a software engineer, discussed system design and cloud topics. I didn't quite finish his system design question due to time constraints. The last round was with an engineering manager and an HR consultant who asked mostly behavioral questions. The HR consultant seemed to assume an offer was imminent.
- Could you design a Web API for URL shortening and redirection?
- How would you write an algorithm to shuffle a deck of cards?
- What algorithm would you use to randomly sort numbers?

It was a really fast process. I first spoke with a recruiting company on a Saturday, and then met with the recruiter in person the following Monday. The very next day, they scheduled an interview for me on the Wednesday of the next week. This interview was with the hiring manager, who is a Director, the COO, and the VP of Business Platforms. It was a pretty laid-back interview, and everyone I met with was very humble, even though they were clearly extremely intelligent. It was interesting that even the COO had a technical background. I felt like the interview went really well. The morning after, the account manager from the recruiting firm called me. He asked if I would be open to a contract-to-hire role, which I had explicitly stated was not an option for me during our initial phone call. Because of that conversation, I decided to withdraw my application that same evening.
- Can you walk me through your past work experience?
- What can you tell me about your educational background?

The hiring manager reached out after I submitted my application and was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He did an awesome job of explaining the role and getting me set up for interviews with the hiring manager and 2 additional people I’d need to interview with. Unfortunately, the role I applied for was filled internally but another similar role was opened and he suggested me for the opening. I was transferred to the recruiter for that role and she was just as awesome. I interviewed with 2 individuals for that role and was offered the position! It took no longer than a month during holiday season. It was a pretty fluid process with quick turnaround.
