First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Immaculata University.
Assistant Director Employer Relations and Marketing
The interview was more of a conversation. I first spoke with the Director of Career & Professional Development for about 15 minutes. Then, I met with two staff members for 15 minutes, followed by another two staff members for 15 minutes. Afterwards, a student gave me a campus tour. The whole visit lasted about an hour and a half. A couple days later, two staff members called to say I was offered the job, pending official offer from the President & Vice President. Over the next two days, we arranged an appointment for the official offer and paperwork. However, the next morning, I received a voicemail stating the search committee moved in a different direction, with no explanation or apology. I was told I was moving forward to be in the position by multiple people, but was never officially offered the job. The process of moving from interview to meeting with the VP and President was handled unprofessionally.
- What motivated you to apply to Immaculata University?
Director
I applied online and got a call really fast for a phone interview. It went pretty well, but the last question was about salary. I said I could negotiate and told them how much I make now. They told me their range was about $30k less than I make now, and this was for a role I thought was a step up. I asked if there was any flexibility there, and they said no. So I politely withdrew my application. The phone screen itself wasn't bad, though.
- Tell me about the variety of questions that were asked.
Counselor
I spoke with the Manager, Assistant Dean, and Dean of the College about the current position and my background. It was a very normal, relaxed interview style, and I felt very comfortable. Then I interviewed with upper management, and again, there was nothing out of the ordinary in terms of questions about experience and salary negotiations.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Assistant Professor
The interview process was straightforward and efficient. You should be ready to deliver a teaching demonstration and engage in a series of interviews throughout a single day. You'll have meetings with several deans and the provost. The campus itself is quite appealing and inviting.
- Can you tell me about your teaching experience?
