So I had a pretty weird interview. It started with a recruiter call, which was super quick and basically just a formality. Then I talked to the hiring manager. He kicked things off by saying he wasn't even sure what he was looking for, which is odd, right? To top it off, he asked me how I handle ageism, given my age. Talk about a red flag and an illegal question. I knew right away I wasn't going to get the job.

First, there's an HR Round to see if you fit the company's culture and values. They might ask about your background, why you applied, and go over your resume. Expect questions about teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Then, a Technical Round to check your specific skills for the job. This could mean coding problems, case studies, or questions about technologies. They'll check your knowledge of industry standards and tools, possibly with practical tests. This is usually with technical team members or hiring managers. Finally, another HR Discussion to wrap things up. This is where you can discuss salary, benefits, and logistics. They might also talk about career growth and how you align with company goals. This last chat is to make sure you and the company are on the same page and address any final concerns before an offer.

I got a recruiter call from the company, they asked about my salary expectations and we agreed on an amount. Then they sent me an assessment. After that, I didn't hear back for 3 weeks, and when they did get back to me, they said they would be in touch the following week. I'm still waiting, and that was 3 weeks ago. Not professional, a shame as the job seemed interesting.
