I applied online and about a week later, the owner randomly called me for an impromptu 40-minute phone interview. He didn't even tell me he was the owner, and I felt like he was trying to catch me off guard. He seemed very cold. A week after that, he emailed me for what he said would be an interview, but it turned out to be a test. No warning at all. He was cold again. I had to reach out to see if they were moving forward, only for him to reply 'no'. It was probably one of the strangest rejection emails I've ever received. Do better, Eric!

It began with a phone interview, but then there was silence about the next steps or any feedback, good or bad. Two weeks passed, and I got an email saying the decision would take another two weeks because the hiring managers were going on vacation, and they asked if I could wait. After those two weeks, still no feedback. I followed up, and the new response was that a final interview was happening and a result would come soon. Again, after 16 days, no feedback. Then, I sent another email asking for any updates and was completely ignored, with no one ever getting back to me.

After being shortlisted, I was asked to pick an interview slot. I chose January 10th and expected a video call link, but didn't get one even the day before. The talent acquisition person was unresponsive, so I had to reach out to another recruiter on LinkedIn to get their attention. They finally replied, saying their team was busy and would provide dates in a couple of days. After a few more days and another follow-up, I was told the position was filled internally.
