The interview process began with a technical and behavioral interview focused on resume projects and standard behavioral questions. The second stage involved an on-site assessment with multiple students, which included four rounds: one technical interview, two team activities, and a 5-minute presentation on a given topic. Unfortunately, I didn't perform well in the technical interview, which led to not receiving an offer.

We did some on campus recruitment. First, they looked at my resume for pre-selection. Then, I was called for an on campus interview. I interviewed with different experienced people from the software team. They mostly asked me about myself and reviewed my previous aptitude test results.

The interview process is very rigorous and thorough so prepare well. I applied on the company’s website after seeing the ad on LinkedIn. Few days later I got a phone interview scheduled directly with the hiring manager. After a week later I was scheduled for a phone interview with the HR following which they decided me to call onsite. Onsite interview was half a day interview including a coding test on the system at the end. During one on one interview with team member as well be prepared for writing pseudo code on the white board. They also offer breakfast, lunch and even travel cost to attend the interview. I will definitely recommend Illumina to anyone who wants to learn, grow and challenge themselves and be part of something so big.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • None of the questions were unexpected, at least for any candidate applying for this job.
  • I definitely felt I could have answered few questions better.
