The interview process at IKEA in New Zealand involved an initial online screening followed by an on-site group interview. During the group interview, the manager inquired about attendees' prior IKEA store visits, with few hands raised. A presentation was given, but the manager struggled with details like the store's opening date and company values, appearing disorganized. The group exercise was peculiar, feeling more individual than collaborative. Finally, short one-on-one interviews were conducted, with a strict 15-minute limit per person. The manager seemed rushed and frequently interrupted, adding to the stress.

For the interview, they asked me some questions about customer satisfaction and some scenarios of what I would do in certain customer situations. I had two managers asking me various questions about the job role.

The interview process wasn’t the best. I didn’t even know it was in the form of a multiple mini interview until I heard someone shout “time up “ and I was asked to go to the next interviewer whether I was done or not. One interviewer kept on asking me the same question even though I had answered already which made him unable to ask me the question that followed so he left the space blank. I asked if it wouldn’t have any impact on my application as it was his fault and not mine and he said “No, it wouldn’t”. I realized another interview wasn’t writing all the answers I had given as I’d talk a lot and see she has written a short sentence as the answer I gave. I found the experience to be very unfair and unprofessional.
