It was a really challenging but rewarding experience. First, I had a phone call with HR. Then, I was given a design test to complete. After that, I interviewed with the head of the design department, followed by an online interview with the international manager. The final step was an on-site workshop test. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job in the end.

The interview was held on the third floor of IKEA in Taichung. HR brought three interviewees into a small meeting room. The process started with a test that includes Chinese, English, and math questions. There was another test paper with questions related to IKEA, such as why you want to interview for the position and which IKEA product is your favorite. The interview took place after the test.

You typically start with an online application on the IKEA careers site, where you fill in your details, education, experience, and the job you want. Then, IKEA's HR or hiring manager looks over the applications to see who fits the job best. If you make the cut, you might get a quick phone or video call from a recruiter to chat about your background, experience, and why you want to work at IKEA. This is also your chance to ask questions about the job and company. After that, you might have one or more in-person interviews with HR, the hiring manager, or maybe future teammates. These could cover behavior, technical stuff, and how you align with IKEA's values. Some jobs might also have tests like situational judgment or skills assessments. For roles needing teamwork or customer skills, you could do a group interview to see how you work with others. If it's a higher-up or special role, there might be a final interview with senior management to talk about strategy and leadership. IKEA might also check your references to confirm your work history and character. If all goes well and your references check out, they'll offer you the job, telling you about pay and benefits. Once you accept, there's onboarding and training to get you familiar with everything.
