First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IgniteTech.
AI Innovation Specialist
The overall process was streamlined and the crossover challenges were good assessments. There were no delays whatsoever in the process. The interviews were on time. I had a below-required score in one assessment but still reached the interview stage and that challenge was discussed in that stage.
- Can you describe your experience with various AI tools?
- What are your thoughts on the latest advancements in AI Development, such as GPT-4o1?
Finance Specialist
It was a 4-stage process. First, a recruiter call, then a technical screen, followed by an onsite interview, and finally a background check. The onsite consisted of a couple of rounds with team leads and then leadership. The first round was mainly about getting to know the role and my work. The second round focused on my technical background and AI skills. The last two rounds were with the COO and CEO to see if I was a good fit, though the CEO interview felt similar to the COO's.
- Can you share your experience with generative AI tools?
AI Innovation Specialist
I interviewed with Ignite Tech a few weeks ago. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. You have to pass a few tests on Crossover first. There's a cognitive aptitude test with logic and grammar, then an English speaking/listening test, and two AI tests. This takes a few hours. If you pass those, you do a pre-interview with HR, then an interview with the CEO, and finally an interview with a team lead. The offer is conditional on passing a proctored version of the cognitive test. They'll have you on a call with someone to check your workspace with two webcams, looking through your phone and computer screen share, making sure everything's closed and extensions are off. This is all for a 15-minute test. It feels pretty invasive and like they don't trust employees.
- How have you utilized AI in your professional capacity?
Account Manager
The interview process is handled by a third-party provider and involves several tests: cognitive, aptitude, language, and situational. I wish I'd seen the reviews sooner, as I wouldn't have wasted time on all the tasks. It seems like they might just be using candidates to generate content, like email samples and proposal ideas. I submitted a video using Loom as part of the situational task. Loom usually notifies me immediately when a video is viewed. I got an alert that my video was viewed, and within the same minute, I received an automated rejection from Crossover, the hiring platform. Since the video is the first part of the situational tasks, it's clear they didn't even review my proposal or email sample. Regardless of whether my suspicions are right, I really think this company should break up the interview process, even if outsourced. Completing all tasks takes a significant amount of time, and they should at least move candidates to more time-consuming tasks only if they pass earlier stages. Getting an automated rejection after finishing all tasks without any human interaction is a really bad experience.
- Can you tell us about the company and one of your newer products?
- Develop a proposal outlining how to understand a specific customer's needs.
- Write a sample email to contact a potential client.
