The interview process for the Design Director role at Igloo was disappointing. While I enjoyed speaking with the team, the overall experience with HR was extremely unprofessional and concerning. They seemed disorganized and inattentive, failing to respond to my emails for over a month regarding the hiring progress. I even sent a self-initiated design project to showcase a concept, but I never received confirmation that it was received. After several attempts to inquire about the position's status, I was finally given a date by which I would receive an update. However, that date passed without any communication. I later found out the role was filled, but HR still hasn't officially notified me. This lack of accountability for such unprofessional conduct can significantly disrupt a candidate's life.

I applied online and a few weeks later I was invited for an in-person interview. I spoke with multiple people there and they asked me about my work style, my experience, and how I'd describe myself. It felt like a good conversation with no difficult questions. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the next week. I sent a thank you note the following day. Since I didn't hear back by Friday of that week, I called. The week after that, I emailed to ask for an update and to reiterate my interest. I never received a response to any of my follow-up communications, which I found unprofessional and telling of the company culture. While I don't expect a response after just applying, I do think it's a matter of professional courtesy to provide a clear yes or no after an in-person interview, rather than leaving candidates waiting.

Applied online. Got a call from a recruiter, who after a few questions, said they'd be in touch, then sent a rejection email. A week later, got an email to interview, with the recruiter admitting a mistake was made with the rejection. Then a phone call from the recruiter who was nice but clueless and couldn't answer my questions. She scheduled a phone interview with the VP. The VP forgot about the interview, but called 15 minutes late and wanted to proceed. He asked basic questions, not about my qualifications, and didn't have my resume. He asked what I knew about Igloo products. After I answered, he said we were done, as he had another interview, and asked to call me back later with more questions. He never called. A few days later, the recruiter had no status update. I decided to withdraw due to poor communication and inept interviewing.

Had a bunch of interviews over a few days. The last one was with the COO. The recruiter was great and made me excited to meet everyone else. A few interviewers changed last minute, but it ended up working out fine. They gave me an office tour and lunch. They asked a lot of the same questions, but tailored to each person's focus. I think they could make the interviews shorter; I was there for four hours twice.
