It was a friendly, typical interview. Everyone was nice and easy to chat with. The first part was in English where I talked about my background, and the second part was in my target language where they asked specific questions.

Had a post-resume interview/preliminary chat for their Vancouver team. The HR person was quite unprofessional and seemed unsure about what roles their team actually needed. After some general questions, HR kept asking about skills I have that aren't related to the role I said I was interested in. I figured out HR was trying to sell me on other positions. It's clear HR doesn't grasp how important it is to assign the right people to the right roles for a project to run well. I get that HR wanted to close this quickly, but they could've asked if I wanted to apply for other roles first. Not sure if it's just this HR person or the whole team, but I'd prefer to talk to someone more professional who knows the game industry better next time. I really love this industry and want to work with people who at least respect my professionalism and dedication.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

My interview experience with IGG in Vancouver was terrible. The Producer from mainland China thought my experience was irrelevant and my games couldn't compare to their multi-million dollar games. I was surprised they even had me come in for a face-to-face interview during COVID. He saw a game in my portfolio and suggested taking the idea for their next game. He said he wasn't hiring me but would consider me if I gave him more ideas for similar game mechanics. They showed no respect and just stole my idea. It was unethical and arrogant.

  • Have you released any games that gross over $30 million monthly?
