Administrative Assistant
I had a Teams interview with a Talent Acquisition employee and my trainee. The interview lasted around an hour, more or less. I felt at ease, they made me feel comfortable which helped me do a great interview.
- Can you confirm my years of experience for the Administrative Assistant role?
Proposal Manager
The interviews themselves went fine. But in the initial screening with the recruiter, she gave me a salary range that had my target salary right in the middle of it. Given that I exceeded minimum requirements by quite a bit, I figured the offer would be around there. After the interviews were over, I was told the maximum salary for the position was now $7K less than the lowest end of the range I was originally given. That kind ethically questionable action makes me question their business practices.

Graphic Designer
I had a phone screen with HR first, then a call with the hiring manager and another employee. Both interviews were pretty standard and nice. The second interview was on a Friday and they asked me to do a design test, which they said they'd send out that afternoon with a Monday deadline. They ended up sending it Monday morning, but gave me until Thursday. I submitted the test and got confirmation, but then heard nothing. When I followed up with HR, I learned the original recruiter left, and a new one was assigned to my case. After I explained, the new HR person sent a link to a different job and asked if I wanted to apply. I was confused and just wanted an update on the role I applied for. She then told me the job was filled. This all happened from late October to mid-December.
- Could you share your thoughts on our brand?
Power Engineer
Started with a phone interview, and then had a face-to-face interview. The face-to-face was the tough part, especially with one specific interviewer who was abrasive and offensive. In just 30 minutes, they had me go over my entire 25+ year career, asking super detailed questions about every aspect, even tiny things I couldn't recall. It wasn't really about my current skills; felt like they were trying to find reasons to disqualify me.
- Are you familiar with disconnects?
