First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IEDC.
Associate
I applied online and got a screening call, then a panel interview. The process was organized, but the hiring manager seemed unsure of the required skills. The panel was unfocused, making me question if I misunderstood the job description, as it felt like they were hiring for a different role than advertised.
- Where do you see room for your own development?
Vice President Marketing
I was contacted by an external HR contractor to set up a brief 20-minute phone interview. I didn't know who I'd be speaking with, so I was surprised to find myself on the phone with 4 people (3 senior folks and the CEO's admin). The interviewers seemed unprepared, and one asked questions in a confrontational way, like 'the salary is lower than those from your salary history - is that going to be an issue?'. When I asked about the company's culture, referencing my due diligence, they got defensive and tried to do damage control, especially after I mentioned negative reviews online. If you're hiring a senior manager, you should be ready for these questions and not be defensive. I never heard back after the call, but honestly, the interview made me realize I didn't want to work there anyway.
- Given that the offered salary is less than your previous one, will that be a problem for you?
Business Analyst
IEDC's hiring process seems to involve posting exciting roles, then putting candidates through unnecessary screenings, only to disappear without any feedback. It feels like there wasn't even a real job opening. They just collect resumes, waste everyone's time, and leave applicants in limbo. There's no follow-up, no transparency, not even a basic rejection email. This behavior is unprofessional and dishonest. Don't bother applying unless you want to practice recognizing fake job ads. - Can you tell me about the CRM software you've used?
Intern
I applied online through Handshake, submitting my Resume, Cover Letter, and a Writing Sample. About three weeks after the application deadline, I had a single online interview.
