First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at iDirect.
Software Engineer
The initial phone interview was conducted by both the department manager and director. It focused entirely on technical knowledge, and they were understanding of me being a recent graduate. I was then confirmed for a 1:1 interview immediately after the phone screen. The 1:1 interview involved eight people from the department, all in different roles. All questions directly related to the job and were based on my resume, covering everything listed there. There was also a one-hour lunch break with the Director. Ultimately, I wasn't selected, but I have no regrets and thought it was a good company overall.
- Could you discuss networking concepts like routers, VLANs, and DHCP?
- Do you have any questions about our company?
Technical Assistance Center Technician
It was a phone screen, then a technical paper, followed by a panel interview in the first round. A subsequent second round panel interview, and finally a third round panel interview. I was interviewed by the Consulting Manager along with the VP. They went through my CV, asked me questions about how I would act in certain scenarios (STAR), general stuff.
- Could you state a limitation of Satellite Communications that involves GEO Satellites?
Recruiter
The interview was quick and straightforward. I didn't have to wait long to hear back about my application status. The vibe was friendly and they seemed genuinely interested in me as a candidate. There's been a lot of movement with people switching to other companies that make satellites, so maybe that's why they're hiring so fast.
- Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert?
Systems Engineer
Got the interview through a University career fair. The interviewer spent the entire time asking questions from different fields and trying to assess what team I would be a better fit for. But they never got back to me, even with a negative response. Do not reply to emails either.
- How can you determine if a number is a multiple of 2 using bit manipulation?
- What are you looking for in a role?
