ARNP
The online application was super easy, I'd suggest checking out their website for openings. They had two interview rounds, and if you did well, the next step was job shadowing. They also asked about my background and if I was interested in addiction medicine.
- Tell me about your previous experience in addiction medicine.
Provider
I had an initial chat with the recruiter, and it seemed to go really well. He mentioned my experience in addiction medicine made me a strong candidate. I was waiting for the next step, an interview with the supervising provider, but then I got an unexpected email. They said because I had previous management experience, they didn't think I'd be a good fit. It was confusing because I've always provided patient care, even when I was managing. Honestly, I felt like maybe they don't want to hire women who might speak up or question things.
- Can you tell me about a weakness you have?
Medical Assistant
So I had this interview with two people and it was about thirty minutes long. They looked at my resume and told me about the company. We talked about the skills needed, the pay, and the schedule. They also asked if there was anything stopping me from starting the job. It was a pretty easy interview, actually. It was a new place so I was one of the first people they interviewed. They hired me right then and there, and the next day I got the offer letter in my email.
- In five years, where do you envision yourself working?
- What are your thoughts on your skills, the pay rate, and the schedule?
- Are there any obstacles that might impede your ability to begin this role?
ARNP
After submitting my online application, I had two separate video interviews. The questions they asked were insightful, and I had ample opportunity to ask my own questions. The whole experience was very professional, and both interviewers maintained a calm and professional demeanor.
- What motivates your interest in working within addiction medicine?
