Graduate Engineer Trainee
It was an on-campus placement process. An online exam with aptitude and technical sections was conducted, and the overall difficulty was medium. 36 students got shortlisted and were split into 4 groups for group discussions. The GD topic was Incredible India or Intolerant India. 13 students made it to the personal interviews. The first part of the interview was mostly HR questions like 'Tell me about yourself, your hobbies etc'. The second part was about technical knowledge, with questions from Analog, communication systems, Antenna, and Microprocessor. The questions were tricky, and they kept asking follow-ups before I could finish my answer, seeming to test patience and confidence. Overall, the experience was not good and I ended up demoralized.
- Is Pulse code modulation a modulation or an encoding technique?
- Regarding antennas, why is HPBW used?
- What does a telecommunication engineer do?

Hiring process was cool! I got an offer through campus placement. It was a 3 round selection procedure. There was a 1 hour online test involving aptitude questions and technical questions covering all areas related to communication engineering. Later there was a group discussion and then the last round was a personal interview. In the interview round, questions were all based on modulation techniques, which is better? QPSK or BPSK and why? what is Sampling theorem, what is quantization, what is coherent and non-coherent FSK? Circuit diagram on OPAMP based integrator etc. Also they asked about major project. I was confident while answering the questions. I hope this thread helps someone looking for jobs related to mobile communications.
- I could answer all the questions they asked.
- There wasn't a question which startled me, as I was preparing for GATE!!

So, the interview process started with a written test, which was all objective questions. They covered topics like analog communication, digital communication, global system for mobile (GSM), antennas, wireless communication, basic electrical and electronic components, and analog electronics. After that, there was a group discussion where the topic was 'social network'. The final round was a personal interview. In the personal interview, they asked for a self-introduction and some technical questions. The personal interview was pretty easy. Honestly, if you cleared the group discussion, you were basically selected.
- Are there questions on basic electronics, GSM, antenna, wireless communication, and analog communication?
