Graduate Assistant
First, you'll need to download and complete the application to be considered for an open graduate assistant position. The hiring managers will review your application and assign you to the best available position based on your skills. To be eligible for the next semester, you must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- What motivates you to take on this role?
Assistant Professor
The interview process was very friendly and welcoming, with efforts to attract me as a candidate. There was a lot of socializing following the teaching demonstration and research presentation. I felt I got to know my potential colleagues well over about two days, and overall, it was a positive experience. I met with regular faculty, adjuncts, chairs, and deans, and the university tried to showcase many aspects of the institution. While positive, this was somewhat misleading given underlying issues with morale, faculty support, and financial compensation at the university.
- Can you describe your unique qualifications for contributing to the development of our new [X] program?
Disability Services
I got a call from a coordinator first, then they reached out again asking me to come in and meet the director. I got to meet a bunch of the staff there, and they were all super nice. I had an interview with a panel of coordinators, and then a one-on-one with the director. The director was great, answered all my questions, and listened well as I talked about my background. The questions were direct and let me ask about anything I was unsure of. I'd totally suggest working at ISU Disability Services.
- Can you explain how your past work experience has equipped you to work with students who have disabilities?
Drafter
The whole process lasted about two weeks, and the interview was scheduled with only two days' notice. The interview itself was okay. There were 10 questions that everyone got, and then some extra ones based on my resume and what I said before. The director interviewing me was nice, and I felt comfortable.
- Were you able to work patiently in high-pressure situations?
