The interview process involved a few interviews with the main hiring manager, the rest of the team, and HR. The questions were pretty basic and straightforward via Zoom. Nothing too tricky. It all took about 2-3 weeks from start to finish.

First I had an interview with HR where they gave me basic info and said the salary range was 100-120k. Then I interviewed with the VP of Engineering, which was pretty technical but not super deep. After that was a group interview with some senior engineers, and that was more technical. They asked a good mix of questions about the tech stack, and they'd explain things if I didn't know them. I liked the engineering interviews. But then, after about 4 hours of interviews total across three times, HR told me they wanted to move forward, but the offer was 30k less than the range they first mentioned. That was a big letdown and not professional. It felt like a waste of everyone's time. I said that wasn't going to work, and a few days later they emailed to say we weren't proceeding. They then emailed a few days later to say we wouldn't be moving forward.

Submitted application with teaching, skill, work, and academic experience. Had a phone screen with HR. Then a 45 min to 1 hr virtual interview with an HR manager. Got an update via phone or email about the interview result. Another phone screen followed, including a background check and other things. Then received the offer.

I was contacted by the HR manager after my resume was received from Yahoo Hotjobs. She had a bit of a strong accent. It's a Chinese company, I think. She set up a one-on-one interview with the Sales Director. I filled out an application in the lobby and then met with the sales director. The interview went well, but I never heard back.
