Customer Success Manager
The interviewer seemed uninterested, making for a less than ideal experience. Although it was advertised as an associate role, the job description didn't actually mandate prior experience. However, I do have some experience, having managed a federal renewal in the past.
- Have you had experience with public sector accounts before?
Customer Success Manager
I talked to the recruiter first, and then had two chats with the hiring manager. The second one was a pitch where I had to present ideas for the company's products/marketing. I know CSMs can be involved in marketing and coming up with engagement ideas, but I was surprised it was an interview requirement. I did my pitch, and it seemed to go well. After that, they asked for a writing sample, like an email about the presentation. A few hours later, I got an email saying the job was filled, but for a different title. I tried to get clarification from the recruiter, but got no reply. I sent the writing sample to the hiring manager, but still no response. It was a messy process. I didn't bother following up because I got a better offer from a company that seemed more put together.
- Can you walk me through your previous roles?
- Could you deliver a 3-5 minute marketing pitch for a given company scenario?
- Can you tell me about your Wonderlic test experience?
Customer Success Manager
It was a 3 step interview process besides the initial recruiter call. First, a 30 minute interview with the hiring manager. Second, a 30 minute meeting that included a 3-5 minute presentation where I had to role play presenting to a client. Third, there were 3 30 minute culture interviews with 3 employees, where they asked behavioral questions like "tell me about a time you..."
- Can you share an instance where you assisted someone?
- Could you provide another example of when you helped someone?
