Software Engineer
The first step was a phone interview with intro and behavioral questions. Then, an HR phone interview that was technical and resume-focused, where I had to talk about my coursework and projects. They asked technical questions on Java, data structures, UNIX, SQL, and OOP. The next stage is an on-site interview, which I haven't had yet.
- What is the difference between an abstract class and an Interface?
Software Engineer
Applied online and had the first behavioral phone call about a week after. Another week later, there was a technical phone interview. After passing both, I had a 2-hour onsite interview with the recruiter, project manager, and two software engineers. The interview process was very professional and organized. The only issue was that the role they were offering was significantly different from the one posted, which led to unexpected questions. But no biggie.
- Can you find a value in an array?
- Implement binary search.
- Find the maximum value in Java.
Software Engineer
I had a first easy phone screen with the recruiter. They asked questions to check my fit and skills for the job. It went well, so the recruiter set up a call with an engineering director. The next phone screen was mainly technical questions and some experience questions. The technical questions covered basic data structures and OOP. A few days later, the recruiter told me I passed and would have another technical phone screen with a manager. This person had a very strong accent, and I could barely understand anything. I asked them to repeat or slow down, but even then, I couldn't grasp what they were saying. For the questions I did understand, they weren't difficult, similar to the previous screen. The interviewer got upset because I kept asking them to repeat. I got an email a few days later saying I didn't pass.
- Can you explain what abstraction is and its purpose?
- What are some basic data structures?
- What are Object-Oriented Programming concepts?
