The interview was quick and direct. The recruiter was very helpful, and I felt respected. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up or feedback, and the selection process lacked transparency. It seemed like a good opportunity with a market-compatible salary and benefits.

I applied on LinkedIn and heard back within a week, which was great. The whole process was super organized and the team was really keen to meet. I had three interviews with important people, and the vibe was really light and welcoming.

Technical Coding

The first round was a call with the head of Software Engineering where we talked about tech stuff, my resume, the role, the company, and business. Then, there was a take-home assignment that they wanted me to spend about 8 hours on. The task was to build a web server with authentication and a few APIs, using Redis and Postgres, and including unit and integration tests with docker-compose. They put me in a Slack channel with some people from Iconmobile and emphasized communication. The problem was, nobody really replied to questions on Slack. The assignment was also way too big to finish in a weekend. After I submitted it, there was no feedback or code review, just a message saying they went with someone else who had a stronger assignment. It felt unprofessional to ask for 8 hours of work and not give feedback. Honestly, it felt like they might be using these assignments for their own gain. I was already a bit wary of interviewing with Iconmobile because of their Glassdoor reviews, and this experience confirmed some of those doubts. I'd say stay away if you don't want to waste your time.

Presentation Behavioral

Applied online and after a few weeks, I got an email for a first interview which they called a casual chat. I went to their office with my laptop and presented projects I have done. They said I am not the right fit after two weeks. This was the worst interview experience. The interview journey was not clear at all, they should clarify what they expect from candidates during every interview step. Don’t use ‘casual chat’ just because it sounds nicer. One interviewer was arrogant and yawned all the time when I presented my projects. They were not interested in me and the positions are underpaid.
