It was a 2 round interview process. The first was an online interview with the product manager that focused on your projects during university. The second was an hour long interview with the engineering team that dug a little deeper into your projects. Asking questions about material, manufacturing method, and your opinion on different designs.

Started with a phone chat with the recruiter. Then chatted with the direct manager over the phone. Then went to Tehachapi for the in-person interview. Got an offer not long after. The whole thing took about 3-4 weeks. The in-person interview in Tehachapi lasted around 4 hours, and included a tour. They paid for my travel and set up my stay. Icon feels like a tech startup, but seeing the aircraft makes it clear they're doing something really special. It has a very grounded feel, and you can really sense the teamwork among everyone.

ICON's recruiter reached out to me first. We had a phone call, and then I spoke with a hiring manager for a phone screen. A couple of weeks passed, and the hiring manager called me again to set up an on-site interview. Later, I went to Tehachapi for the interview day. I met with about six people from different departments, one or two from each. We walked around the hangars and chatted while they interviewed me. It was a good conversation with everyone. About a week after the interview, ICON contacted me about an offer.

The interview was in-person at the Vacaville site. I met senior management, flew the aircraft, and met future colleagues. It seemed to go well since they asked about salary expectations. I was also asked to visit other locations, but then heard nothing back. I'm not impressed with the lack of communication after investing our time, it would be better to at least get a call about the outcome instead of being left wondering.
