First, there was a quick intro of myself and the role. Then, I was asked questions about a specific circuit, an AC to DC rectifier, and some stuff about microcontrollers related to monitoring voltages, driving BJTs, flyback resistors for motors, and system failure modes. After that, I was shown a device with its cover off and asked to discuss what I saw, including hot and cold sides. The interview also included a tour of the factory and facilities, with some experience-based questions along the way. My advice is to brush up on UL knowledge, EMI and wireless devices, failure mode analysis, and basic AC to DC circuits. There were many questions, but they weren't overly difficult.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you walk me through this circuit, explain what you observe, and its function?
  • What is the failure mode of this circuit?
