I had to do this super long assignment, like 10 hours long, and I didn't even get to interview because I guess I didn't do enough on the assignment. But honestly, it felt like I dodged a bullet, because the job probably would have been a total grindfest.

So, I'd recommend people to not waste their time interviewing for tech jobs at ICEYE. Firstly, the recruiter didn't do a good job explaining the company or the role, and didn't even get the interview stages right. It was also a bit weird that the recruiter was in Poland for a job in Finland. But I went ahead with the technical interview anyway, and after I sent in a tough take-home assignment, the recruiter just ghosted me. When I followed up, I got some generic feedback saying I didn't meet expectations, with no details. I definitely didn't expect this lack of professionalism from a company in Helsinki, Finland.

It started with an HR call to check if my resume matched the role. Then, I had an interview with the Data Engineering director. This involved a technical part and questions about my past experience related to the skills they're looking for. After that, there was a technical challenge. It was a pretty straightforward but lengthy task. The challenge had two main parts: first, writing docker scripts to work with a binary they provided, and second, processing some tiff files. The last step was just... silence.
