First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at IAT Insurance Group.
Accounting Supervisor
I had a panel interview with three people, and they were all in different locations. It was a really positive experience, even though I didn't get the job. All the interviewers asked really good questions and were super nice and easy to talk to. I also had a great experience with the HR person.
- What makes you stand out from other applicants?
Intern
The interview process is pretty straightforward. First, there's a phone screen with HR, followed by an interview with the team. They mostly ask about your resume and interests, and some basic questions about surety, but nothing too complex.
- Can you tell me what you know about surety?
Underwriting Trainee
The interview process was good overall, but the end part was a bit much. The panel interview wasn't super difficult, but having three people on the panel for the final round felt unnecessary since I'd already been vetted by two others before that. It's good for getting different viewpoints, but as a candidate, I'd prefer a more direct conversation rather than feeling like I'm in a group chat where it's hard to tell who will answer your questions.
- In what ways have you contributed to improving team relationships?
Underwriter Trainee
I went through interviews for an underwriter role in Illinois for a month and a half. After my last interview, I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week or early next week. Two days later, the recruiter called, saying someone couldn't make the last interview and wanted to schedule a quick call. I had to follow up multiple times, and after a week of waiting, the recruiter said they were still trying to schedule it. Two days after that last conversation, the recruiter called to say there would be no interview and I wasn't chosen for the role. I feel this was handled poorly because they claimed there would be a follow-up interview for over a week, making me think I was still in consideration when it seems they never intended to interview me again. This reflects poorly on how the company represents itself and handles candidate relationships.
