Learning and Development
This interview process was unlike anything I've experienced before. They really make sure the person they hire can handle the job and will also push the company to get better. They do this by using unusual interview questions and tasks.
- After watching a coworker for a while, can you pinpoint their greatest strength or 'super power'?
Anonymous
I applied online and answered a questionnaire, and while I thought I did okay, my answers were pretty vague and I didn't really expect a follow-up. But then I got an email asking me to schedule an in-person interview. When I got there, they said it was a 'leadership' interview and asked some weird questions, more 'geeky' than related to the job tasks. They said I'd hear back within 24 hours, but got an email within an hour and a half saying they went with someone else. Honestly, interviewing there was a total waste of my time.
- Who is....'the man'?
- What starship captain best represents your leadership style?
Case Manager
The interview process took 3 months and included 4 interviews, which felt excessive. There were two phone interviews and two in-person interviews. The main contact person from the organization did not follow up as promised, making the whole process very slow. Fortunately, I am proactive and kept my options open. If I had only been interested in this specific position, I would have been very disappointed. Despite the slow pace, I enjoyed learning about the organization and believe they do important work. Everyone I spoke with seemed passionate about their roles and the positive community impact they've had.
- Can you tell me who your favorite Harry Potter character is and the reasons why?
- Imagine someone took your lunch from the refrigerator; how would you handle that situation?
Intern
The interview process was thorough and a little lengthy but worth it nonetheless. You might want to bring a snack since you could be asked to stay and complete an assessment. Having computer software knowledge is recommended.
- Imagine you're in Hallmark's marketing department and tasked with creating a new holiday to increase sales. What holiday would you propose?
