First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hydro-Québec.
Developer
It was a standard interview with HR and the project manager. There were some technical questions, but not too many non-technical ones. The good thing is that the stages were clearly stated from the beginning of the interview. The bad thing is that the feedback was late (more than 3 weeks and I had to follow up), and in the end, it was a rejection without a real reason.

Project Management
To start, they begin by describing the tasks, the position itself and try to determine if you understood it well. Subsequently, there are questions to learn about your background and your motivations for applying. After that, it was mainly situational questions. The situational questions represented about 3/4 of the total interview time.
- Regarding the job description, what competencies do you consider essential?
Analyst
so the interview was about 45 minutes long and started with a situational assessment thingy where they give you a scenario and you have to figure out what to do. it was to see how I'd handle stuff in real life. then they asked me six questions about my experience, problem-solving, teamwork, and if I fit the company vibe. after that, there was a technical test, probably to see if I could actually do the job, like with some coding or exercises or whatever.
- The interview process, which lasted 45 minutes, involved a situational assessment, a series of questions, and a technical test to evaluate my suitability for the role.
Researcher
Getting an interview here is tough without a strong referral; if you get one without, they must be really desperate. I had a referral, but the job was totally different from my background. I'm not sure why they even scheduled the interview.
