Teacher
I went to a job fair and met principals from the school districts. The principal I spoke with was really nice and gave me a lot of information. She told me to apply for a position.
- How would you handle a situation?
Teacher
after applying online, the principal decides if they want you to come to the interview. It was a panel interview with three people. It was super serious and tense, there was no smiling. Already sets the expectation, that the teachers at the school are probably the same way. No feedback or conversation would go on during the interview.
- Can you describe a typical day for someone in this role?
Dual Language Teacher
The interview process was a bit intimidating with about 7 people present. I really liked the principal, but some of the teachers seemed very serious and couldn't even smile. I felt from the beginning they didn't like me. I tried to be polite, smile, and speak with passion about myself and my skills, but everyone's face was so serious, except for one teacher and the principal. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of place this would be to work if I were hired. They seemed unhappy to be there and too serious to me.
- Can you share how you made your classes fun?
Teacher
Got an email after I applied. Then had a virtual meeting with the instructional coach and the department chair. We talked about school climate, goals, instruction, and ways to improve. It was a smooth and professional experience. I heard back about the job status quickly, in less than a week.
- Can you describe your approach to classroom management?
