First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Husson University.
Assistant Professor
I went through two rounds of interviews and also gave a lecture to students. The hiring committee members were really nice, welcoming, and seemed super enthusiastic throughout. The interviews were professional, but even after finishing everything and preparing the lecture, the communication was pretty bad. I waited over a month for an update on their decision, even though they said they'd let me know the following week. After the first follow-up, they said they postponed the decision because they were too busy and would be in touch soon. When I forced myself to send a second follow-up email, they told me they'd chosen someone else. I got the feeling they weren't planning on telling me at all. Then, they suggested I apply for another job that was supposed to be posted later that week. I'm glad I asked for details because that position wasn't even close to my area of expertise. Nice people, but a bit distant and didn't really seem to care about people's time.
- Could you share some general information about yourself?
- What makes you want to apply for this job?
- What topics are you researching?
Instructor
I had a team interview where the head of the department was in charge. It was like a round table where we all took turns asking a list of questions. After I answered, everyone could add more questions. They asked me if I had any questions for them at the very end.
- Can you tell us a bit about Husson?
Finance Intern
I had a phone interview first, then a video conference. The Finance director and a Financial Analyst interviewed me. Both interviews were set up a week in advance and started on time.
- How do you handle situations where you are uncertain about something and need to find an answer?
