First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Husch Blackwell.
Intern
I had a 2-hour interview with Husch Blackwell, and there wasn't a screener. The interview was broken into 3 rotations, each with 2 attorneys, and lasted about 30 minutes per rotation. All the interviewers seemed really prepared and asked good, substantive questions. Honestly, I was super impressed with everyone and the whole firm.
- Could you go into more detail about specific items listed in your work experience on your resume?
Senior Manager
I applied on 7/11 and a talent acquisition coordinator reached out on 8/4 to set up my phone interview with the Talent acquisition manager. I picked a date (8/5) and the TA Manager called right on time. She asked if it was okay to record and transcribe the call, then we started with the intro and questions. She asked what seemed like typical questions about my resume and experience. I was specifically asked about my big law experience, which I didn't have. By 8/11, I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with my application.
- Can you tell me how many people you have supervised?
- Were you able to work with teams in different locations at a large firm?
Information Governance Specialist
I went through 3 rounds of interviews. First, a 45-minute phone interview with HR. Then, a Zoom interview with the hiring manager that lasted about an hour. Finally, an in-person interview with the manager at the office, and the front desk person was there too. The firm ghosted me after the third interview, which was shocking given how smooth it had been.
- Could you share three of your strengths and three of your weaknesses?
Summer Associate
Each interviewer session lasts about 20 minutes, and there were a total of 4 interviews. Most of the questions were casual, focusing on your first year of law school. The process moves from office to office, and you'll meet with 2 partners and 2 associates. Make sure to bring paper copies of your resume, just in case someone doesn't have it ready or prepared.
- Regarding your first year of law school, which course did you find most enjoyable?
