HR reached out and we set up an on-site screen test. It was pretty straightforward, mainly multiple-choice questions. What was odd was they threw in a lot of physics questions too. The questions themselves were really basic, like asking about bits in a byte, the meaning of HTTP, or how to delete an SQL table. It felt less like a developer interview and more like a technical support screening.

First, they had me come in to take a knowledge test about programming. If I did well on that, I had to take another test. Then, they asked for my high school and college transcripts (unofficial were okay) and my SAT scores. I spent $70 just to get the transcripts, and Annie (HR) didn't even bother to email me back to let me know I wasn't selected. I know HR sometimes doesn't get back to people, but I had been talking with her for over a month and had already given them everything they asked for. They probably rejected me because of my grades and/or test scores, without giving me a chance to show what I could do. I guess they don't consider learning disabilities.

I applied online after seeing the opening on Craigslist. An administrative assistant from the company called me to set up an on-site multiple choice timed test. A lady named Annie Yau proctored the test. After I scored 85%+ on all parts of the test, she conducted an on-site HR screening. She then took me to a separate room to discuss my experience and provide more details about the company. She mentioned that if I were selected, I would receive a notification by mail.

I found the job posting on craigslist.org. I sent my resume and CV to their HR department. A few days later, they called me to come in for what they called an 'interview.' However, the interview was actually a test. It included sections on math, physical science, grammar, and spelling. You could take as much time as you needed to finish, but it was timed. There might have been 1-6 other people taking the test at the same time. I did well on the test, and about 4-5 days later, I was invited back for an interview with the company president. We spoke for about an hour, where he asked about my background and skills. I was offered the job right then and there, and I accepted it.
