Behavioral Presentation

I was contacted by a recruiter via Indeed, likely due to my resume. Even though I was a recent grad with minimal professional history, I had some experience in education. After some email exchanges, I had two phone interviews, each about an hour long, with different people. Then, I had to travel over 3 hours for an in-person interview, which wasn't reimbursed. This in-person part lasted about 2.5 hours and included a paid lunch with two interviewers. Everyone I spoke with seemed positive, and I never found out if there were other candidates. I got an offer soon after. The whole process felt long but was pretty relaxed and easy. Much of the time was spent discussing the company's history and the franchise model. Most questions were straightforward, asking about my background and my views on education and working with children, nothing particularly challenging. During the in-person interview, they seemed to have a template with multiple pages of questions, but I don't think they asked all of them. It wasn't difficult, and I would have called it 'easy' if it hadn't taken so long. They mentioned the typical work week is 45 hours or more, with long days, and that flexibility is key.

The interview process involved initial phone screens, followed by a meeting with the owner, and then a second interview with the owner and her husband, possibly joined by other full-time staff. The interviews heavily focused on background, experience, and situational problem-solving. Two key aspects emphasized were the involvement of ground-level marketing and the expectation of long working hours, although the hours and schedule initially provided during the interview were misleading and inaccurate.
