The interview process involved asking questions based on my resume. Specifically, they focused on my experience with process improvement methods, continuous improvements, implementing safety methods, using time studies to identify bottlenecks, updating work instructions, and cost reduction using lean methods.

The first step in the interview process was a 30-minute phone screening with Debra Hoff, the Manager of Talent Acquisition. It felt like a casual chat where she wanted to get to know me better, understand my background, and learn about my management approach. She also provided an overview of the company's history and details about the production supervisor role. I had the chance to ask questions at the end, and she answered them thoroughly and honestly.

This company has a ridiculous and time-wasting interview process, not recommended for developers wanting to grow. They use old tech with developers unfamiliar with current stacks. The ONSITE interview started with a 1-hour logical assessment, followed by a 4-hour Technical interview. It went well, and the VP of Engineering spoke positively. The HR then scheduled a 5-hour final Personality assessment and a 1-hour third-party phone call, which felt like a waste of time for a developer role compared to coding or technical interviews. Despite acing it, I waited 3 weeks for no reply. They then called back, stating the position moved to a different manager and required repeating the SAME 5-hour interview. I attended again, but the position changed to a different role with old technologies like C++.

I first applied online and then had a friend put in a good word for me with HR. HR reached out to set up an interview at their St. Louis HQ, and they were flexible with scheduling and even covered gas costs. Once I got there, I was taken to an office to complete three tests: one for mental alertness, a second physics-based mechanical aptitude test, and a third tool recognition test where I had to identify tools and their uses. The first two tests were timed. Instead of HR, I was interviewed by the engineer I'd be working with, who was more interested in my hands-on, engineering, and design background. My project portfolio was really helpful in showcasing my past work. I was relieved not to face the usual tough interview questions. Although I was supposed to meet with several engineers, they were out of the office. Since I was one of the first to interview, I was told I'd hear back within two weeks, but I actually got an offer the following Tuesday after interviewing on a Friday.
