Account Executive
The recruiter was transparent and responsive. After our initial call, I interviewed with the Head of Sales. The interview ran long but felt productive. I was told to expect a third interview the following week, but I haven't heard back in weeks. I followed up by email, which was opened, but still no response. I understand if you've moved on, but the silence is disappointing and unprofessional. A quick update would have been appreciated.

Operations Manager
I was first contacted by a recruiter in October 2022, and the last I heard about the process was in April 2023. The recruiter was great with communication and coordination. However, I felt very led on by the hiring team. After I had 4 rounds of interviews, I understood the role was undergoing changes and hiring paused. I was patient, and a few months later, there was a follow-up to re-engage. But I felt like I was just being kept interested while they figured things out, and I still don't know the role's status or if I've been rejected. Having 10 years in recruiting, I can't stress enough the importance of a solid hiring plan. If the organization doesn't know what the role will look like, don't post it or source candidates. It's a waste of time and creates a bad candidate experience and employer reputation. I know startups have constant reprioritizing, but a simple yes or no on candidate status is the minimum. Ultimately, this showed me the organizational structure issues and process aren't what I'm looking for.
- How did you meet with 5+ people over the course of a few months?
- Can you describe the one round where the interviewer came prepared with actual interview questions?
- What were the remaining conversations like, which were extremely casual?
Chef Network Manager
The first chat was really useful. We both figured out it wasn't the right fit for me, and I really liked how open and clear they were throughout the interview.

- Can you tell me about your current experience?
Software Engineer
I talked to a recruiter first. The founder Shy was supposed to call me but didn't show up, and I didn't get any heads up. The recruiter then called me to check in. I told her what happened, and she apologized and set up another interview. The next interviewer was clearly inexperienced or had poor social skills, as he quizzed me on random frameworks not even used by the company instead of my resume skills or their stack. It turned out he was a junior engineer who'd just graduated and had been there less than a year. After the 15-minute call, the recruiter sent a rejection, saying I was 'used to slow-moving government jobs,' which was odd given my background. She also agreed it was weird about the framework questions. When she asked them about it, they said they weren't sure if they were ready to hire.
