First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Humble Bundle.
Influencer Relations Manager
They had a bunch of interviews with different people on the team, 4 total including the first HR chat. The calls were about 30-45 minutes each, and the later ones were an hour.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Junior Engineer
The interview process spanned several weeks, culminating in a lack of communication. While the recruiters were approachable, the interviewers seemed disorganized. Despite requests for an update, there was no response from the interviewers.
- What was your undergraduate GPA?
Customer Support Representative
I applied online in mid-January for the Customer Support Ninja role. After not hearing back for two months, an HR person contacted me in late March about setting up a phone interview. The Customer Support Lead conducted the phone interview, which was about half an hour. They asked basic questions about my history and work. Right after the call, I got an email with five example support tickets to answer. These seemed to be writing exercises and to check if I knew the company's products and policies. A week later, I got an invitation for an in-person interview scheduled for the following week. The same Lead interviewed me, along with two other Customer Support team members. They focused on what I could contribute and how I'd fit into the company culture. They asked a lot about my video game experience and a little about my future goals. It was a really fun interview experience. The interview was on a Friday, and I got an offer by Tuesday.
- What are your favorite five video games?
- Can you tell us about your background and experience?
- Please draft responses for these five sample customer support tickets.
Game Scout
The interview process lasted about a month for the initial stages. I had 5 interviews with 5 different people from various departments. All the interviewers asked the same questions in a very casual conversation style, making it tricky to gauge their interest. After the fifth interview, they mentioned I'd hear back in 1-2 weeks, which seemed unusual since they had been scheduling interviews every 2-3 days. This made me feel like I wouldn't be chosen, and that turned out to be the case. I wasn't selected to move forward to further interview stages. The rejection email didn't explain why, despite my relevant education and knowledge. It just stated they were proceeding with other candidates and thanked me for my time. I tried contacting them multiple times for feedback to understand my shortcomings and how I was evaluated, but I've been ignored since. On a positive note, it seems like I avoided a bad situation, as they apparently treat candidates like numbers rather than individuals.
